Christopher J. Easter was born on 5 October 1978. He graduated from High School in 1996.  After graduation, he reported to MCRD San Diego on 9 July 1996, to 3d Recruit Training Battalion.  Upon graduation, he was ordered to report to School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton, CA. Graduating in December 1996, Sergeant Major Easter received orders to Marine Barrack 8th and I, Washington D.C. (MBW) where he went through Ceremonial Drill School and became a ceremonial marcher for 2d Platoon, Company A.

In January 1999, he reported to 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (3d LAR Bn), Twenty-nine Palms, CA, where he was promoted to Corporal and assigned to LAV Platoon, as a scout team leader. During this time he participated in Operation Bright Star 99’ in Egypt. In March of 2000, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, where he was then moved to Company A to hold the billet of platoon scout leader. His Platoon was later attached to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, and deployed with the 31st MEU for the bilateral exercise Tandem Thrust in Australia. 

On 25 October 2001 he graduated from the Basic Recruiters Course (BRC) and was assigned as a canvasing recruiter in the 9th Marine Corps District. After a successful tour on recruiting duty, he requested orders to 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Twenty-nine Palms CA.

In 2004 he deployed with 3d LAR in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) as a platoon sergeant with Charlie Company. Soon after completing deployment, he waived his dwell time and accepted Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) orders to 4th MEB Anti-Terrorism Battalion, Border Transition Team 7, to re-deploy to OIF for one year. He was assigned as the operations chief for the team, training and advising recruits and leaders of a battalion-size Iraqi force in Anbar province. Half-way through the deployment, he joined Team 8, where he served as the operations chief to train and advise Iraqi border police officers near the Syrian border.  Returning from TAD in May 2006, he reported back to 3d LAR. In February 2007 he received orders to Marine Barracks Washington D.C.

Upon checking in to Marine Barrack 8th and I, he was assigned to Company A to serve as the Platoon Sergeant for the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. After he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant he was ordered to Company B where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant.

In August 2009 He requested orders to Twenty-nine Palms, reporting to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines (1/7).

He was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company as the Company Gunnery Sergeant; he prepared the Company for deployment to Okinawa in support of the 31st MEU, where he participated in the Philippine Bi-lateral Exercise.  He was selected to First Sergeant in December 2010 and served as the Headquarters and Service Company First Sergeant. In late 2011, he was sent to Company A where and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).

In February 2013, he received PCS orders to Marine Corps Detachment Fort Benning GA, where he served as the Company First Sergeant for the Armor Training Company. In November 2015 he was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major.

Sergeant Major Easter received PCS orders in December 2015 to 3d Battalion, 6th Marines (3/6) where he prepared the Battalion for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as the Battalion Landing Team (BLT) Sergeant Major. Two months into the deployment he left ship to serve in a Task Force in support of Operation Inherent Resolve – Syria (OIR).

In February 2018 he received PCA orders to 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (2d LAR Bn) where he served as the Battalion Sergeant Major preparing the Battalion for Company and Platoon sized MEU deployment rotations, training exercises,  to include multiple Deployment For Training.

On 12 April 2019 Sergeant Major Easter received PCS orders to Marine Corps Security Forces, Naval Submarine base, Kings Bay GA where he currently serves at the Battalion Sergeant Major.
