Master Chief Eric D. Hancock, a native of Fort Valley, GA; completed recruit training at Navy Recruit Training Command, San Diego, CA, in October 1991. Upon graduation, he reported to Aviation Electronics Technician “A” School in Millington, TN. Upon completion of “A” school, in June 1992, he reported to Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department, Sea Operational Detachment, Naval Air Station Cecil Field, in Jacksonville, FL. From August 1993 to February 1994 he deployed onboard the USS AMERICA (CV 66) and was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class. From January to July 1996 he deployed onboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class.
November 1996, AT2 Hancock reported to Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland, Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department as a communications and navigation electronics technician.
June 1999, AT2 Hancock reported to Naval Station Mayport, FL, Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department as a communications and navigation electronics technician. In 2002 he was promoted to Petty Officer First Class and was approved for rate conversion to Master-at-Arms. He reported to Master-at-Arms “A” school in June of 2002 at Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, VA.
Upon graduation of Master-at-Arms “A” school in October 2002, he report to Naval Base Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico as a Watch Commander.
May 2004, MA1 Hancock transferred to Naval Support Activity Athens, GA as a Watch Commander. September 2005 through September 2006, MA1 Hancock deployed to Iraq under Individual Augmentation orders serving with the first Navy Provisional Detainee Battalion. While deployed he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
May 2007, MAC Hancock transferred to Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Middle East Field Office in Bahrain where he served as a member of the Security Training Assistance and Assessment Team.
July 2008, MAC Hancock transferred to Maritime Expedition Security Squadron 3 Detachment Bahrain, where he served as a Mission Commander for embarked security teams in support of Operation Vigilant Mariner.
August 2009, MAC Hancock transferred to Naval Air Station Key West, FL, where he served as the Security Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. In July 2012 MAC was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
July 2013, MACS Hancock was assigned to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion Kings Bay, GA, as a Leading Chief Petty Officer. In 2016 he attended the Senior Enlisted Academy class 193(Orange). He was selected for promotion to Master Chief Petty Officer in July 2016.
October 2016, MACM Hancock reported to United States Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, VA, as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Afloat Antiterrorism/Force Protection Operations Branch.
November 2018, MACM transferred to Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Kings Bay, Georgia for duty as the Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Master Chief Hancock is married and has 3 children. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with a silver star; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with a silver and gold star.
