Biography
COMMANDING OFFICER, TRAINING COMPANY
Major Stephen Alexander

Major Stephen Alexander enlisted into the Marine Corps Reserves June 2013. From August 2011 to May 2016, he attended Longwood University and graduated with a B.S. in Political Science and subsequently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. From September 2016 to August 2017, he attended The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course in Quantico, VA.

Upon completion of The Basic School and the Infantry Officer Course, he was assigned Platoon Commander, India Company 3rd Battalion 4th Marines at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. From September 2018 to April 2019, he deployed to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command where he contributed to Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR).

In the early months, he served as the Ground Force Commander for the Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel for the Central Command area of operations. He traveled to the King Abdullah Special Operations Training Center in Jordan, to conduct a joint embassy reinforcement training and conducted various live fire ranges in Militarized Operations on Urbanized Terrain.

In January 2019, First Lieutenant Alexander led his platoon to Syria conducting combat operations in support of OIR. Upon return from deployment, Major Alexander assumed the duties of Company Executive Officer, India Company 3rd Battalion 4th Marines.

In September 2019, First Lieutenant Alexander planned and supervised the execution of joint training with United Arab Emirates. In February 2020, First Lieutenant Alexander provided support to Task Force Southwest at the Mexican-American border in support of the U.S. Border Patrol.

In May 2020, First Lieutenant Alexander executed orders to Recruiting Station Dallas, as the Operations Officer. While there, he was promoted to Captain in August 2020 and continued to serve as the Executive Officer for RS Dallas. In February 2023, Major Alexander received orders to Maneuver Captains Career Course in Fort Benning, GA. Following Maneuver Captains Career Course, Major Alexander completed the Army Basic Airborne Course.

In September of 2023, Major Alexander checked in as the Lima Company Commander in 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines in Twenty-nine Palms California. During his tour with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, he deployed in support of Unit Deployment Program- West and Korean Marine Exchange Program 24.2.

In January 2025, Major Alexander reported to Marine Corps Security Force Regiment where he was assigned as the Company Commander of Bravo Company followed by Company Commander of Training Company where he is currently serving.

Major Alexander has received the following personal awards: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two gold stars in lieu of third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and Select Marine Corps Reserve Good Conduct Medal.
